| General Overview | Alex is a brilliant scientist that specializes in cybernetics. He has been described as "endearingly arrogant" He has a good sense of humor that tends to be sarcastic in nature. He doesn't suffer fools well and expects others to be as well briefed and knowledgeable as he is. He is loyal to his friends of which he doesn't have many. he takes his work very seriously. Always looking for ways to improve upon it. When looking at a problem, he will leave no stone unturned, no option unexplored. However he is no saint. He can be scathing in his contempt of others who don't do their best (as he sees it )he is also highly impatient. He hates to wait for anything. He also is a playboy. A girl in every port it seems. He just hasn't found the right one to settle down with yet. He likes to party. Sometimes too hard and too long with not the best results. |

| Personal History | Alex was born in Las Vegas, Nevada. The oldest of the three Darr children. His parents are both doctors as are his brother and sister. From an early age Alex developed a wanderlust dreaming of journeying among the stars. He is naturally inquisitive, a tinkerer. It is that which led him into the field of cybernetics. After standard secondary schooling, Alex graduated from Stanford University, he then worked at the UCLA medical complex in California. It was there that he developed experimental miniature robots which when attached to a patient's limbs restored mobility to said limbs/ spinal cord. He literally has allowed the paralyzed to walk, run and reclaim their lives that they thought lost forever. It was for this medical breakthrough that he was awarded the Dowenger Award for Medicine. Alex was at the top of his field and he let everyone know it. He didn't rub the award in people's face but he made sure they knew it and treated him the way he thought he should be treated which was like a king. Then it came crashing down. His implants were used incorrectly and several patients almost died and one did. His implants were called into question and he was publicly vilified as a reckless scientist. The Union wishing to distance itself from him and his cocky attitude as well as the public's perception of him exiled him to Union Mining Station 42 |
